Install enView on mobile devices
Step-by-step instructions to add the enView PWA to your home screen on Android and iPhone/iPad, plus launching, updating, offline use and troubleshooting.
enView is a progressive web app (PWA). You can add it straight to your home screen from the browser — there is nothing to download from an app store. Once installed it opens in its own window and behaves like a native app.
Android
Chrome (recommended)
- Open Chrome and go to portal.enview.xyz (opens in a new tab) .
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen.
- Edit the name if you like, then tap Add.
- The enView icon appears on your home screen.
Samsung Internet
- Go to portal.enview.xyz (opens in a new tab) .
- Tap the menu icon (☰) at the bottom.
- Tap Add page to → Home screen.
- Tap Add.
Automatic install banner
On Android/Chrome the browser may show an Add to Home screen banner at the bottom of the screen. Tap Install to add enView in one step.
iOS (iPhone / iPad)
Safari (required)
PWA installation on iOS only works through Safari — Chrome, Firefox and other browsers on iOS cannot install PWAs.
- Open Safari and go to portal.enview.xyz (opens in a new tab) .
- Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow) at the bottom.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Edit the name if you like, then tap Add in the top right.
- The enView icon appears on your home screen.
Launching the app
Tap the enView icon on your home screen. The app opens in standalone mode (no browser address bar) and behaves like a native app.
Updating the app
enView updates itself in the background through its service worker. When a new version is available it is downloaded silently and becomes active the next time you open the app. To force an immediate update, close the app fully and reopen it.
Offline use
The service worker caches the app shell and core assets on first launch, so the interface is available without a connection. Data-dependent features — live observations, forecasts, sensor readings and alerts — need connectivity to refresh.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Install option not showing | Make sure you are on https://, not http://. |
| iOS install option missing | Use Safari — not Chrome or Firefox. |
| App not updating | Close it fully and reopen, or clear the Safari/Chrome cache. |
| Blank screen on launch | Clear the app cache: long-press the icon → App info → Clear cache (Android). |
